With Abhinav Bindra winning at the Olympics, well a quest has begun inside me abt what it takes to be a winner & excel in what u do.I welcome myself to understand me.The questions have always been Who am I? What am I here for? Well let me start. My name is VC. It means earth. I think my personality is very earthy. I am passionate about nature, I can sit for hours and just watch life around me. Be it grass, flowers, insects, birds, animals, name it, it is there. I just know that am not there in their world when am watching life around me move. I see love in them. I see team work in ants. I see motherly love in elephants. I smell the earth and I feel that it’s my smell that I carry around. Am a part of nature. In fact all of us are. This is something that some of us realize and some don’t. So who am I really?? I still don’t know. See that’s just a part of my personality that I have described. My being is still undiscovered.
. I would love to know the purpose of my life. How many of us actually know this? Or Ask this question to ourselves?? Do we have the balls to lead a life like that??
I love wildlife. I love to learn from them. From dung beetles to the tiger. I actually love them more than human beings. Am being honest here. No harm in feeling this way. We have so much to learn from them. I have begun my journey as a wildlife photographer. I don’t know what’s in store for me. Do I wonder?? I do. But I also like this feeling of expect the unexpected. I know that in whatever I do, I’ll give in more than 100%. I have always been this way.It is not easy to stay away from family, from your loved ones and work towards what you believe in. This is what I call vision. I have a vision. But my question is that is this the purpose of my life??Maybe. I guess where there is unconditional love, that is where your purpose of life begins. What do I expect from wildlife or the jungle really??
Nothing..I love it unconditionally. This is another fact that since am a photographer, I’ll be making money out of the images that I take.I also know that am not taking those photographs with an intention to make money. Here I am back to square one. My vision is to educate the educated when it comes to wildlife. Though I do see many many youngsters fighting for so many causes, issues. But there are also many many of us who ignore the real facts...For example, I was riding back to Ooty through Bandipur and through out the way there are boards, signs, which tell not to stop since it is jungle and mainly because animals cross. It is their land. I see this Blue color KA registered Maruthi van stopped right next to a bison. The distance was hardly like 5 feet. I mean it is damn close. That’s a wild bison and not a buffalo. And the best part is that these men have gotten down the vehicle and are watching the bison and drinking KF beer.
Is this not audacity??
So what did I do?? I go to them and tell them in my courageous voice that “Don’t you guys have any sense? You have parked your vehicle in the jungle and are standing near a bison and drinking beer? Educated? Or should I call the patrolling vehicle??” There was no patrolling vehicle by the way.I had no clue what their reaction would be. I was ready to fight them physically too. I dared. They were shocked. Am sure they were thinking that who the hell is this bitch?? Or look at this chick, on an enticer and yelling at us?The drunk driver started apologizing. They left after this. Was this right? Was this the right thing to do?? I don’t know honestly. But if I think about it, I feel it is right. I mean why not? Am I not a citizen of this country? If rules are to be followed, why not? Not every rule is meant to be broken you know. We have infact broken so many rules, gone against nature, taken out every little thing that she had to offer us. We have been so greedy. And all this is showing. Climatic changes around the world. We are taking about global warming, conservation, protection blah blah blah. For what?? For breaking tiny rules like this?? And if someone is breaking it, is it wrong to correct? I tell myself that small things make a big difference. This was a small thing but I know that the bison would have been so happy when the crowd moved away. He would have grazed happily without any disturbance and had a good evening.
I don’t care honestly. I do what I believe in. So is this actually the purpose of my life?? To do what I believe in??
I know end of the day am happy this way. I have no regrets or complaints. Am content. And this is also another purpose of this life..to be happy. So I shall conclude this huge thought by saying if you do what you believe in, you will end be being a happy and a content soul. And A WINNER!!
Ciao.
